Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a tool suite of cloud computing services for the app developers to develop, create, examine and utilize applications. This platform is provided by Google. Google Cloud Platform also provides a platform for the issuance of digital certificates.
The Google Cloud Certificate Authority Service (CAS) is a highly accessible, scalable Google Cloud service that provides an opportunity to clarify, operate, convert and custom-built the management and security of private CA.
In the last month, Google declared the GA i.e. general availability of this particular service. Last year in August, the company declared the cloud-based certificate authority service. This enables the customers to introduce digital certificates---certificates that they need for the management of public key infrastructure (PKI).
From that very day, it is observed that customers have been utilizing the service in cases like maintaining digital signature services, identity management which is also known as identity and access management---this is a structural framework of certain technologies that assures that people have the right access to technological resources.

Three new members named Keyfactor, Jetstack, and Smallstep have joined hands with the CAS partnership program.
According to InfoQ, Google has implemented new features that include a CA pool where the CA rotation can be attained by adding a new CA to the existing one and extracting the old one from it.
The second feature would be to intensify the very purpose of policies that enable per-user group policies, where the administrator will be able to interpret certificate templates.
Other features include a Terraform provider, Integration with cert-manager.io, a Hashicorp Vault plugin that enables CAS to be the certificate issuer and Qwiklab.

A principal analyst and vice president at Constellation Research Inc., Holger Mueller states, "The modern digital economy is connected...it begs and asks for cloud services, which is what Google is offering with its CAS that is going GA."
Senior product manager, Ryan Sanders explains, "...The key to success is simple, repeatable processes for certificate management across all platforms and devices."
