Snapchat is millennials' favourite application, for making short videos, staying in touch with streaks, or using lenses for a perfect picture. The application actively focuses on customer improvisation. 

 

Snapchat currently has 283 million users. It spanned in various categories, initially known as the “video sharing” application it increased its scalability and features to cater to every user’s needs. It is the most widely used social media platform after Facebook and Instagram. 

 

 Snapchat recently launched new AR tools for businesses, creators and  snapchatters.

The new features include scan, and camera shortcuts. Recently launched “Scan” feature will allow snapchatters to scan through millions of lenses in a few seconds. 

 

The scan button will be available on Snapchat’s main screen. It will ease down the tedious task of individual search for a particular type of lense.

 

The “Scan” feature can also be used to identify dog breeds, and individual species of plants. Snapchat is adding more categories to the smart scan feature.

 

Screenshop a newly launched feature, will allow users to scan any product related to fashion, makeup, or food. Later it will show thousands of brands, restaurants that are selling the same product.

 

It will even help to scale ordinary business operations, youth provide the biggest market for fashion and makeup products, this new feature will connect businesses to customers in nanoseconds.

Snapchat also updated its Lens Studio. Lens studio is a free desktop application that will enable creators worldwide to make their own lenses. Snapchat lenses allow users to add 3D effects, objects and characters to an ordinary image. The newly evolved Lens Studio will allow people to build more innovative lenses for gaming, education, shopping, culinary and more.

 

Connected Lenses feature will instill a sense of belongingness, it will let users interact with AR together co located locations will allow them to chat, play, and create content together. 

 

Snap ML will allow creators to import their own ML models. 

 

Lens Analytics will provide creators with the insights of actual data, the anonymous data will help them to understand the key components for building engaging and rich content. 

 

Businesses can now have their public profiles which will help them to increase their customer reach. They can use highlights, snap chat stories, and lenses to expand their reach. 

 

According to HT Tech , Snap has made some recent acquisitions to bolster its AR technology including the $124.4 million purchase of Fit Analytics, a tech company that uses machine learning and webcams to allow users to create personalized fit profiles.
